Vietnamese contestant wins first prize of international singing competition in Hungary

(VNF) - Ninh Duc Hoang Long, a Vietnamese student who is pursuing master degree at Hungary’s Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, recently won the first prize at the 10th Simandy Jozsef International Singing Competition in Hungary.

The competition was held from the 23rd to the 29th of April in Szeged (Hungary) by a local artistic and educational foundation and the University of Szeged Faculty of Music. 

The competition targeted three categories of contestants: students of musical high schools, students aged below 26 studying in professional music universities and academies, and those who are pursuing master degree in music or any contestant aged below 36.

In this year’s contest, the Vietnamese student took part in the third category and finally shared the first prize with another contestant from Croatia.

In the previous season, Long secured his victory at the category for 18- to 25-year-olds after surpassing 150 competitors.

Long was born in 1991 in the Northern province of Ninh Binh, and was an alumnus of the Vietnam National Academy of Music before becoming a student of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music./.
