Also, in this year, VUFO sent 47 delegations to foreign countries, at the same time, received totally 65 delegations.

Speaking at the event, VUFO Vice President and General Secretary Don Tuan Phong said the seminar aims to acquire feedback to improve the efficiency of people-to-people diplomacy in the near future.

The activities of the people's external relations have focused on neighboring countries and South East Asia region (especially Laos, Cambodia, China and ASEAN countries), countries with strategic and comprehensive partnerships; countries that have a traditional relationship, promoting economic, trade, investment, culture, science and technology, education and tourism, and some other fields necessary for the cause of construction and development of the country.

Phong asked VUFO chapters to promote collaboration and share experience towards creating a collective power.

Phong appreciated the efforts of the member organisations of the VUFO last year to contribute to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and the people of countries all around the world. At the same time, he affirmed that together with the concerned departments and units, VUFO will study to find out the most appropriate solutions to strengthen the sharing of information with member organisations.

Phong stressed that in 2018, the People's Aid Fund would promote the socialisation and mobilisation of external resources, adding his hope that 2018 would a breakthrough year, especially about the mechanism of operation of member organisations.
