Mural painting displays four seasons of Hanoi’s flowers

Painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, responsible for the Ceramic Road along the Red River dyke in Hanoi and artisans of Tan Hanoi Art Company have completed a mural painting “Four Seasons of Hanoi Flowers" along Pho Duc Chinh street.

The mural painting depicting enlarged flowers of Hanoi painted on the walls along Pho Duc Chinh street in Hanoi have attracted a large number of visitors and students to the place.

The group consists of six members: Thu Thuy, Tran Dinh, Nguyen Phu, Dinh Huy, Nguyen Sy, and Vu Tu who have redecorated the old wall with flowers of Hanoi such as rose, pink lotus, white lily, orange sword-lily, yellow violet, red and white dahlia, yellow chrysanthemum, and some other flowers are brought to Hanoi from Da Lat like arum lily, bird of paradise flower, artichoke flower, succulent, etc.

Painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, the prestigious Bui Xuan Phai award in 2008, and New Hanoi (Tan Hanoi) arts company have been assigned to give the wall in front of Mac Dinh Chi secondary school a makeover.

Thuy, head of the group, said she wanted to transform the plain-looking wall by painting enlarged images of popular flowers of Hanoi.

“I’m very happy to see students of Mac Dinh Chi secondary school rushing to the mural after school and discussing about the names of the flowers and plants on the mural,” she said.

She also encourages the development of public art, in order to bring art closer to the public, especially children, and expects Hanoi to have more murals similar to this to make the public and children love their city even more..

The mural painting, covering a wall which 2.2m in height and 40m in length, and depicting flowers and different shades of green leaves and the various colours of plants such as purple secretia, taro, umbrella palm, sago palm and toucan peak..

In 2017, Thuy and artisans of Tan Hanoi Art Company had completed a decorative mural painting, covering a pillar which is 7.4m in height and 6.4m in diameter with bright images of plants and flowers, part of an art project to turn Da Nang Airport into a tropical garden.

The "Hanoi Ceramic road" along the Red River dyke is the opening for the idea of ​​street decoration with paintings in Hanoi.
