Culture-Tourism Village delights Hanoians with various activities throughout February

(VNF) - A cultural program “Spring Colors Across Vietnam” will be introduced at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town on the outskirt of Hanoi during February.

At the center of the program is a spring festival with the same theme, taking place on February 24th-25th. This is an annual event held to celebrate the cultural heritage of all ethnic groups in Vietnam. It features interesting festivities, art performances, and distinctive folk games and traditional dishes of the ethnic groups.

The programme welcomes the participation of 80 ethnic people of 11 Vietnamese ethnic groups (Tày, Dao, Mông, Thái, Mường, Khơ Mú, Tà Ôi, Cơ Tu, RagLai, Ê Đê, Khmer).

A typical rural market from the northwest region will be recreated at the village, where visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere during New Year with locals from the regions.

Visitors are invited to enjoy folk songs and dances, play folk games, and taste indigenous dishes from different regions.

The ethnic people will introduce and cook many specialities such as xôi ngũ sắc (colourful sticky rice), corn wine, roasted pork and grilled fish.

They will sell products from their regions such as dried bamboo shoots, brocade, wine, vegetables and thịt gác bếp (smoked buffalo meat or pork).

There are also traditional arts performances by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Entry at door is VND 30,000 (USD 1.32) for adults, VND 5,000 (USD 0.22) for children and VND 10,000 (USD 0.44) for students./.
