Craft Link’s bazaar brings minorities' traditional handicrafts to urban buyers

On Saturday, November 17, (from 9 am till 4.30 pm) Vietnamese and foreign visitors can attend one of Hanoi’s most interesting cultural events: Craft Link’s Handicraft Bazaar.

Once a year, Linkage and Development (or Craft Link) organizes its traditional Handicraft Bazaar in Hanoi. This is a special event in which Craft Link introduces it artisans directly to other customers and visitors.

On this occasion, ethnic minority people from all over Vietnam will come to sell products which utilize their traditional skills. Selected artisans from around Hanoi and disadvantaged groups will also present their products. And customers have a chance to meet directly the artisans and learn more about their culture

All the products at the bazaar are produced as part of a program run by Craft Link, which helps at small Vietnamese craft producers to develop their businesses and find market opportunities, while still abiding by fair and sustainable trade standards. This means minority producers follow the rules of gender payment equity, child labor prevention, and safe and healthy working conditions.

With diverse items ranging from brocade clothes to bamboo baskets, jewelries, children toys, house craft-making demonstration, Batik making and Indigo dyeing show decorations, many Hanoi citizens and foreign expats find this November pop-up market an ideal place to shop for Christmas.

The bazaar will be organized at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Nguyen Van Huyen Str., Cau Giay, Hanoi).

Admission(Museum entrance fee included): VND 40,000 (USD 1.72).
