Azerbaijan's Heydar Aliyev Foundation presents wheelchairs to disabled Vietnamese

Anar Imanov, the Azerbaijan Ambassador in Vietnam, on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, presented wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Vietnam on December 3.

The activity aims to commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities (December 3).

Upon addressing the event, Ambassador Imanov spoke highly of the fruitful relationship that exists between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, a relationship that is continuing to develop across all fields.

He also introduced the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activities, including charitable events in Vietnam.

According to the ambassador, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chaired by First Vice President of Azerbaijan Meriban Aliyeva has run many social projects in Azerbaijan and abroad. Attaching special importance to education in their activities, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, along with providing social support to low-income families within this project, contribute also to advancement of education.

On speaking at the event, Nguyen Van Hoi, General Director of the Department of Social Assistances, expressed his deep gratitude to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's leaders and their huge support.

The wheelchairs are useful to the disabled in their daily activities, easing their difficulties and helping them become better integrated into the society, he said.

Participants also discussed the activities of the Vietnamese government and other organizations to protect the rights of disabled people, provide job opportunities and help them to integrate into wider society./.
