According to the Australian Consulate-General, the cash will be used to purchase Braille printer for the school, which will help increase teaching and learning facilities.

The Australia Community Day is an annual outdoor event for the overseas Australian community, to celebrate the Australia Day (January 26).

Being founded in 1976, Nguyen Dinh Chieu school for the Blind (District 10, HCM.City) has been giving education opportunity to students with vision-impaired.

Since 1992, it has provided integrated education for visually-impaired pupils in secondary schools.

Under the programme, visually-impaired children are placed in classes with vision-normal peers. Based on the programme’s positive results, the school has begun to apply integrated education on an even higher level.

At the moment, the school is providing training for around 300 students./.
