200 artists to take part in watercolour exhibition in Hanoi

(VNF) - More than 200 works by painters from Vietnam and different countries and territories around the world will be displayed at the second international watercolour exhibition in Vietnam.

The second International Watercolour Exhibition, co-organised by the International Watercolor Society (IWS) in Vietnam and Hanoi Museum, will be open to the public in Hanoi from October 23rd.

The exhibition will display 217 artworks by 216 watercolor artists from 45 countries and territories in the world. In particular, with the participation of world-class watercolor artists such as: Uruguayan-Australian artist Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi (China), Amit Kapoor (India), among others. 

The event will serve as a chance for the audience to see with their own eyes the original works of these world-famous artists.

On October 23rd and 27th, there will be a painting performance by the President of International Watercolor Society, Turkish-Canadian artist Atanur Dogan and other international and local artist, including: Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi, Amit Kapoor, Mai Nguyen, Bui Duy Khanh, Yuko Nagayama, Helidon Haliti, Myint Naing, Lafe, Zeze Lai, Besnik Xhemali, Binh Chu, Chow Chin Chuan, Thu Huong Nguyen, Jansen Chow, Agus Budyanto, Subin Muang Chan, Liu Xi De, Ho Hung, Doan Van Toi, Thuy Duong, Hoang Vo, Nguyen Thuy Anh, Truong Van Ngoc, Toan Nguyen, Megha Kapoor, Maneerat Skirampa, Win Xin Lin, Chiayee Lam.

On October 25th on Cat Ba Island, nearly 100 artists of this exhibition will together create a 40-meter painting, which is going to be considered the longest watercolor painting of Vietnam.

Activities of the event will continue until October 30th, the exhibition will open to the public for free until November 15th in Hanoi Museum.

The IWS Vietnam, a member of the IWS which was founded by Canadian watercolour artist Atanur and based in Turkey. The IWS Vietnam was established in May 2014, creating the first large professional playground for watercolour artists and art lovers.

The event aims to bring this type of painting closer to the public as well as create an opportunity for Vietnamese artists to improve their watercolor technique./.
